Sundays, 9:30 am - 12:00pm
Tuition: $260 ($245 members) Includes Model Fee

Class Description:
Drawing the human figure requires knowledge of the underlying anatomy. The artist must understand the structure and relationship of bones and overlying muscles in order to capture the essence of the human form. The main objective of this class is to give students the anatomical knowledge crucial to drawing the human figure accurately and to learn to use that information to improve figure drawing technique. Students will work from a live model, along with a skeleton and plaster cast, to study and sketch the human body while identifying and visualizing underlying structures. The varying shapes of the muscles and the skeletal structure will be examined, as well as their relationships to each other as they influence external appearance and movement.
