SUMMARY:Class #576: Oil Painting - Still Life & Copying Master Paintings with Michael Van Zeyl
DESCRIPTION:Program Description\nOpen to all levels\, this class will introduce various painting materials including: surfaces\, grounds and oil painting media. With emphasis on chiaroscuro painting (the dramatic distribution of light and shadow in a picture)\, students will learn the essentials for creating dimensional\, life-like paintings including: composition & design\, values\, edges\, color harmony & color temperature\, and paint application. Students are welcome to bring in their own objects to paint from life. Students can opt to copy master paintings. It’s one of the best ways to learn painting. \nSpecial Notes\nThis class meets in our northlight studio on the 3rd floor. \nRequired Supplies\nA supply list will be emailed to you when you register. SUMMARY:Portrait Painting with Susan Lyon (Guest Scott Burdick)
DESCRIPTION:Scott and I will each demonstrate from a live model every morning\, offering two distinct approaches to painting. After lunch\, participants will work from the same model. I will provide individual critiques\, while Scott will discuss his process with the group\, answer questions\, and continue painting so students can observe how he brings a portrait to completion. \n\n\n\n\nSpecial Notes: There is a $50 non-refundable model fee. \nThis workshop will meet in our 3rd floor studio. \n\n\nRequired Supplies \n\nSupply List
