SUMMARY:Class #420 - Watercolour Fluency with Lenin Delsol
DESCRIPTION:Time: 6:30PM – 9:30PM CDT on Thu —\n\nI believe watercolour is a medium you have to become friends with. And who wouldn’t want to take a painting journey with a friend?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI didn’t always feel this way. Watercolour used to fight me\, until I stopped trying to control it and let it give me what it wanted to give. That’s when the fear went away. \nIn this class\, we’ll paint the portrait and figure from life\, using transparent watercolour paints. We’ll focus on drawing and composition alongside colour. Whether you’ve never touched watercolour or you’ve been painting for years and want to push further\, there’s room to grow here. \nI believe that when used with confidence\, a watercolour painting can make as powerful a statement as an oil. \n\nSpecial Notes \n\n\n\n\n\nThere is a $60 model fee payable to the instructor.\nThis class meets in our 2nd floor studio.\n\n\n\nRequired Supplies \n\nSupply List

SUMMARY:A Shared Legacy of Friendship\, Artist’s Life\, and Lifelong Learning with Nancy Guzik & Rose Frantzen
DESCRIPTION:Two friends\, two lifetimes of painting experience\, doubling the opportunity for attendees to learn. Rose and Nancy are happy to share and teach this comprehensive five-day workshop. \n\n\nThey’ve decided to focus the workshop on the “model with the still life”\, providing the student with the opportunity to explore a larger composition or\, if preferred\, numerous smaller paintings\, in extended hours of studio learning.\n\nFrom their common history of working with Richard Schmid\, Rose and Nancy will connect his foundational teaching of Alla Prima\, direct painting\, learning to see\, and the four principles of value\, color\, drawing\, and edges\, with what they themselves have learned through experience and emphasis. Nancy and Rose hope to guide attendees toward what each will need for fuller expression of themselves on canvas. We will explore the importance of questioning as a lifelong practice\, equipping participants to continue developing their artistic vision and problem-solving skills after they return home.\n\nNancy and Rose will both demonstrate and will attend every student’s easel throughout morning and afternoon sessions\, emphasizing teaching during the hours the model is present. Evening sessions will be a looser format\, giving students time to work on still-life sections and background areas. Rose and Nancy will also work on their own paintings\, providing students the opportunity to observe the way each teacher moves a larger composition toward a finished work.\n\nThe official hours of the workshop are 9 am to 5 pm. As an added bonus\, Nancy and Rose will lead optional evening sessions each day from 6 pm to 9 pm. Dinners will be enjoyed in the Palette and Chisel galleries amongst Richard’s exhibition. Stories\, perspectives\, wisdom\, and laughter\, are sure to ring forward from the days Rose and Nancy sat alongside Richard\, carrying through to these days\, as they sit alongside you\, enmeshed in the joy of painting and fellowship.\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial NotesThe workshop will take place in our third floor studio. \nMaximum: 20 Attendees\, 2 models\, 10 students a each model.\nThere will be a shared model fee.
